Join our Inkululeko Ngomculu Parade

  • The Inkululeko Ngomculu Parade is more than a celebratory march – it is a symbolic journey through unity, cultural diversity, and the universal language of music. This initiative captures the spirit of Summa Cum Laude on Tour: building bridges between generations, traditions, and countries through artistic collaboration and mutual respect.
We believe this parade will be a deeply meaningful and memorable experience for all involved – a visual and sonic statement of hope and harmony. We look forward to your support in bringing this moment to life.

  • The parade will take place on Friday, 7 August from 17:00 to 19:00. This carefully planned, symbolic procession will serve as both a celebratory and reflective experience – showcasing the diversity, artistry, and unity of our local and international music ensembles.

  • The parade will begin at Elephant Courtyard in Palace Square, with ensembles assembling down the stairs near the central sculpture for an official group photo session. From here, the procession will move along a secured path that curves around the back of the Amphitheatre, where burning torches will line the walkway, and professional drummers will lead the way, creating a powerful auditory and visual impact. This section emphasizes transformation, rhythm, and unity through music. As the parade flows past the amphitheatre, it will approach Monkey Square, where a second photo opportunity will be arranged in a more informal, celebratory atmosphere. Participants will then proceed toward the final destination: the Sun City Super Bowl, where they will gather for the concluding segment of the evening’s festivities.

    • Pilanesberg National Park, or Pilanesberg Game Reserve as it is often called, is in the Bojanala Region, within the Northwest Province and relatively near Johannesburg. With an area of 550km², it is the fourth largest park in South Africa. The volcano crater in which the park is situated erupted 1300 million years ago. Pilanesberg was originally owned by 3 of the local tribes. Many of the Stone Age and Iron Age sites around the reserve show proof of the presence of man.
    • In 1979, Operation Genesis was launched. Operation Genesis was designed to reinforce the homegrown game population in the area. A plan of action put into place involved 6000 animals being introduced to the area. In the years that followed, Operation Genesis has been expanded on. Today, there are over 7 000 animals and 360 bird species.
    • Takes place either early morning (05 am) or at sundown depending on the final festival schedule
